Man v. Woman. What ultimately differentiates us is our femininity that can not be imitated. Naturally, everything from our hair, attire, to shoes appropriately compliment our feminine side. Heels are a girl’s best friend, but we have our off days too! These are the days when the summer heat seems to sizzle up from the pavement, causing our feet to call out for some form of ventilation and comfort. Sure we can slip on a pair of flats to maintain a classic look, but what about those sneakers that have been shelved away? Pairing a look with a pair of sneakers not only gives our heels a mini break, but also helps to keep our look grounded (literally and figuratively) without looking over the top for a casual day out.
Why did we turn our backs away from sneakers in the first place?
Sure, the rubber flat soles are comfy and convenient, but:
a) they don’t always seem to go with our thoroughly thought-out attire for the day
b) they seem to “stumpify” our legs
A Common Concern: Wearing sneakers tend to make our legs look shorter. How so? Aside from the obvious factor of lacking a heel to give us that extra towering boost, our insecurities with our non-stick-thin calves seem to tower over our self-esteem.
